Some Real Talk: Why Must We Tear Ourselves and Each Other Down???

Today's blog really has nothing to do with hair, fashion, shopping, or beauty. I'm writing to day out of complete irritation with the African American female population especially my generation. Nothing gets under my skin more than women who have no type of value for themselves and like to bring other women down with them. Everyday I hear women say (including myself) that they are no good men out there. Well the reason that there isn't much to choose from is because, we as women don't up hold our standards and go along with what every foolishness men dish out, all for attention. And what we don't realize is that we are just making it hard for all females. Do you think men would cheat and sleep around if they didn't have anyone to be triflin with??? Honestly, I can't wrap my head around it. Maybe it's my up bringing in the church, or just how I was raised. How can you sleep with a man who you know is married or in a relationship???? Even more so, the question of the century is, how can you even sleep with a man who you know for a fact that some one you consider your friend was involved with?????? Why would you even want to share that? That is beyond nasty and triflin. Do you not have any value for your friends, relationship, or your body??????? The thing that I really can stomach is the one's who brag about it and have no shame. The ones who think it's cute and just do wayyyy too in the presence of men to allude very clear what they can do under the sheets. What ever happened to morals and charm??????? Do you not know that if you behave in that manner that that's all you are going to get in return? If that's you portray yourself as, that's all your going to get in return. My beautiful queens you are worth so much than that. When are we going get back to being women that men would be pround to have on their arm and not just the back burner chick? This is something that has sadden my for years, there are too many young beautiful women in the world (especially African Americans) who don't know their worth, and are looking for love and all the wrong attention. Don't get me wrong I am no where near perfect, but what happen to sex being something special. Let me tell you some thing, and I'm saying this from experience, as women, we can not just have sex with no emotion....it's not going to happen. Men can do it, but we can't. When a woman has sex with a man there is a soul tie created. If a women is just having sex with every Tom, Dick, Harry, and Jane...there is a deeper issue...she's looking for something and just destorying herself in the process. I think every woman should watch Junita Bynum's sermon entitled "No More Sheets." It's YouTube. I can't post the link right now because I'm at work and YouTube is blocked but I will post it as soon as possible.

Healthy Hair Journey: DAY 1

In the spring, I went from collar bone length hair, to a shaved in the back, to a mohawk. I then started to grow my hair back by doing quick weaves using Grow Protect Solution. Now that my hair has grown to the point where the shaved part is now grippable, I am now going to start wear wigs. This is the fastest way for me to grow my hair. Today I washed my hair with Cream of Nature Shampoo for color treated hair for the first shampoo-ing and Pantene Pro-V Relaxed & Natural Anti-Danfruff Shampoo for the second. I then deep conditioned with Pantene Pro-V Relaxed & Natural Intenseive Moisturizing Conditioner and applied Doo Gro "Anti-Itch Growth Oil", under a plastic cap. Sitting under a dryer would really do the trick, but I really hate sitting under the dryer so I just leave the cap on for a while and start doing something else. After I while I washed the conditioner and oil out really well and applied a palm full of Dr. Miracle Relaxed Hair Potion leave in conditioner. I then molded my hair with gel, foam wrap lotion and spritz. Usually what I do is just apply some heat protectant (the best is Nexus or Mazani) and blow dry it and put it in a pony-tail, but I am in major need of a relaxer and I'm just putting it off for a couple of weeks. If I were to blow dry my hair, it would be extremely poofy and would not lay down, therefore my wig would not lay right on my head. The gel that I prefer to use for molding is Ampro black styling gel. I also like Proclaim Olive Oil Foaming Wrap Lotion  and Bonner Brothers Pump It Up Spritz. After molding my hair, it wrapped it with Sanek Jump Wrap strips and set under the dryer. I then put on the wig (Vanessa - Joby), securing it with plenty of bobbi pins. I really like it for right now. It does shead a lot. I think I'm going to buy a synthentic lace front wig when I go home this weekend. So if you have questionleave a comment. Peace out my loves!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Holla: Hairsisters.com

I am officially in love with this site. Because I currently stay in central Illinois while I'm in school, I don't have much to choose from when it comes to weave and wigs. There are only two "African American" beauty supplies in the Bloomington-Normal area; one dosen't sell Outre at all, the other does but it's high, and both have a limited selection of hair. I don't always have the money to go home to get hair when I want to do my hair. I stumbled upon Hair Sisters by various references on You Tube. This site is great the offer all the major hair brands and has low cost shipping. You can find just about anything you want here. They currently have a 20- 40% off holiday sale going on with $1.99 ground shipping! Check them out ASAP! http://www.hairsisters.com/

Daily Holla: Cato's Knock-Offs

Yesterday I went to Cato to return a sweater, and I noticed that they sell knock-off brand perfume. Now I never purchase knock-offs that are blantenly knocking off a designer, but this something great for those of us on a tight budget. They have knock off brands of all the popular perfumes like, Ed Hardy, Paris Hilton's Can Can, Baby Phat Goddess, Burberry, and many others. The gift sets are only $8 and the large bottles are only $3. Now even though have knock-off sounding names like Tattooed (Ed Hardy), Yes Yes (Can Can), and Bamberry (Burberry), they smell excatly like their designer counterpart. Checkout http://www.catofashions.com/ to find a store near you.

Real Talk: Shopping Plus Size.....So Irratating!!!!!!

Hello everyone I just want talk about the shopping pains of the young, full-figured and voluptuous. As much as I love fashion, I really hate shopping. Some of you may as ask, "girl why is that?" Well my darlings, that is because I deal with the issue of finding things that fit me correctly and don't make me look older than I am. Real talk, I'm kind of tired of people thinking I'm 29 years old with kids. I can dress the hell out of other people but when I comes to myself....don't get me wrong I'm known as one of the best dressed females, but it's not as FIERCE as it could be. Now it just really pisses me off that I can never find a pair jeans that fit correctly. If you know me, I LOVE leggings...why? Because I was blessed with a few extra in the middle and jeans just push it up creating an unwanted roll that pokes through shirts. NOT CUTE AT ALL. Now, I know us Thick Madames, have always been told to wear long shirts and empire tops.....I don't know about you, but that just makes me look bigger and pregnant. SO NOT WHAT'S UP! Now, what I have found effective for me and other young women in that gray area between juniors/misses and plus/women's: tops with large ruffles, and tops with banned bottoms work with our body type nicely. And if you are heavy in the chest area, please avoid trapeze tops at all cost! But back to my fustration, the one thing that really grinds my gear is that plus size items are just so expensive! I understand that the price would be a little more because of the need for extra fabric, but if I'm going to pay more I don't want it to look like I got it from the sales rack at Deb's or Rainbow. Now for my more voluptuous diva's, there is a store, Torrid that has trendy plus size clothes, it a little high but that have nice clothes (check out http://www.torrid.com/) But as for me, if anyone has any solutions to this issue that plagues me so, fell free to drop a comment LOL. Love you all!

Daily Holla

Today's holla is about Milkyway 27 pcs. I've done them before, but I've done the one on my own head  for the first time last night. I really like it, it came out kind of FIRECE! (I will be posting a video on the look soon) It's only $12 a pack. For my ISU student's, it's only available at Kim's on Market. The good news is you really only need one pack of hair. This hair is so versatile. Endless possibilities!!!!

Make Me Over, Make Me Nice: Wales Palette Vs. The Icing

Ok so I'm addicated to Goldenchild789's channel on youtube, and one of the palettes that she mentioned she uses Wales palette. So I found some online that were like over $20. You know I'm always looking for a deal so I when to http://www.ebay.com/ and bidded on a "Wales" 96 eye shadow.  I ended up winning it for like $2. (What a deal right?) So I'm waiting on that. I did go to the Icing to day and they also have large eye shadow palettes (not sure how many colors but they have different sizes). The largest all shadow palette I was $20. If I get a little extra money, I will try it out. I will keep you all posted once I recieved my palette and post some pictures of some looks.

Payless Update

So I when to Payless today get a pair of Christian Siriano shoes (the mustard and black ones to be exact) and they really broke my heart. Unfortunately they are not available in Bloomington-Normal. My darlings it appears once again, this is something that we are just going to have to go to Chicago. I will keep you up dated in my quest for Fierce-ness!!!!!!!

Budget Diva: OMG! I've Died and Gone to Heaven!!! Christian Siriano at Payless???

If you don't shop at Payless I bet you will now. I dog-gone near had a fit when I read this article on http://www.fashionwithfifi.com/. Payless team up Project Runway's season 4 winner to bring this new holiday collection, which is every bit of FERICE!!!!!!!!! Everything in this collection is between $30- $50, and the best part is that it's BOGO! If want to check out the full article hit up http://www.fashionwithfifi.com/ and best sure to check your nearest Payless Shoe Source store (http://www.payless.com/)

Daily Holla

Today's holla is about Outre Duby. This is the best $15 you will ever spend. For my ISU student's in Bloomington-Normal it is only available at Beauty Maxx on Rabb road and I believe it's $25 per box (so you may want to head to Chicago for some). It's pre-bumped hair that gives you that natural layered wrap look. I love it be cause it doesn't tangle! I used in a quick weave with an invisible part. Once I get my natural hair long enough to braid I'm going to do a sewing with it. But you should mos def try this hair out. I promise you'll thank me later. LOL.

You can check out this video on youtube by jamise79 to see what it looks like in a quick weave style. Thanks girl for the info!

New Found Love

Being a college student on a limited budget a had to cut a lot of expensive that I had in high school, including getting my hair done every two week. With my experience working as a shampoo girl in my aunt's shop, and my love of experimenting, I picked up on lot. Soon doing hair became my little side hustle. I decided to create a blog page about, hair, make-up, and fashion not just because those are the things I love, or because I want to just bring more publicity to my little "mini business" but because I want to help all young women to bring there inter beauty out.
